A. G. PAPANDREOU’S ACADEMIC ECONOMIC THOUGHT 1943–1963

چکیده

The aim of this article is to make an overall assessment Andreas George Papandreou’s theoretical contributions during his American academic career, from the perspective history economic thought. Papandreou contributed postwar development thought in competition theory and experimental testing consumer theory. In developing theory, he introduced a new method evaluating monopolistic power firm through coefficient measuring firm’s penetration market. Furthermore, suggested way experimentally whether individual preferences satisfy axiom transitivity. He actively participated methodological controversies on realisticness assumptions that took place between 1946 1953, empirical meaning economics 1963, Milton Friedman, Paul Samuelson, Fritz Machlup, Herbert Simon, others.
